Heritage Philharmonic Announces 2007-2008 Season Concerts
We are very excited about what we have
planned for you, and we know you will not
want to miss a single performance!
Our first concert will feature Beethoven’s
extremely popular and powerful Symphony
No. 5. This timeless masterpiece will
remind you of the excitement and intensity
that you can experience at a live
performance. I am also delighted to be able
to share the stage with my wife, Nicole
Murray, who will be our featured soprano
soloist for Rachmaninoff’s Vocalise and
Grieg’s Solveig’s Song.
We will once again celebrate the holiday
season with our special guests, the Honors
Choir from Delta Woods Middle School.
Under the direction of Shirley Atkinson,
these fine young musicians help all us to get
in to the holiday spirit.
Our commitment to music education
continues as we feature the winners of our
Young Artist Competition in March. This
concert gives our winners the opportunity
to perform as soloist with a full symphony
orchestra accompanying them. This always
inspiring concert will also include the
beloved music from Bizet’s opera Carmen.
We will conclude this season with a concert
inspired by dance! All instrumental music
can trace its roots to dance. Over the
course of the evening you will hear a variety
of dances, representing different
composers, countries, forms and styles.
You may have a hard time sitting still for
this performance.
